Everything you need to know about 24xLink components, LS PCM conversions, and LT platform compatibility.
To complete a 24x LS Gen 3 PCM and ignition conversion, you’ll need the 12200411 PCM, 24x crank and 1x cam reluctors with sensors, updated wiring to connect the PCM, eight LS coils with brackets and plug wires, and a base tune to get the engine running. Torqhead’s 24xLink “Works” kit includes all of these components—brand new and ready to install—except for a custom tune, which can be added separately depending on your build.
The 24xLink signal kit can be installed on any ’92–’97 LT1 or LT4 engine that originally used an Optispark, regardless of spline or pin drive. Our Plug-n-Play PCM option supports ’94–’97 models, while early ’92–’93 F-Body and Corvette platforms can use the signal kit and coil setup, but not full PCM integration.
GM 12200411 'P01' Gen 3 PCM—reliable, well-supported, modified and tested in-house for durability. All units are new or remanufactured, sealed, and bench-tested with warranty.
The 24xLink system delivers crank accuracy within ±0.5° and cam accuracy within ±1°, both well within OEM specifications. Each kit is tested on our in-house engine simulator to ensure clean signals, precise tolerances, and consistent reliability before it leaves our shop.
Yes. Proven stable at 10,000+ RPM, beyond what the Gen 3 PCM supports.
Yes. All dampers—including ATI racing dampers—are compatible. Contact Torqhead for custom setups.
Any timing chain compatible with LT timing covers work. Adjustable crank sensor mount adapts to variations. Stock 4x reluctor can be removed if needed.
Torqhead’s updated Gen 3 PCM supports both 1994 and 1995 4L60E transmissions, controlling them exactly as designed with full reliability. All 1996 and newer transmissions are already natively supported by the LS Gen 3 PCM from the factory. The LS PCM also works with manual transmissions such as T56 and manually shifted automatics such as 700R4, TH350, TH400.
Yes. Torqhead’s 24xLink signal kit provides the 24x crank and 1x camshaft signals that aftermarket ECUs require. Once installed, your ECU will receive accurate position data, and you can complete the setup by wiring it according to the instructions provided by the ECU manufacturer.
No. It’s only slightly thicker than an Optispark. If Optispark fits, Torqhead’s sensing unit will too.
It is highly reliable, with a rigid design that ensures clean, accurate signals and resists dirt, water, and debris. Centrifugal force keeps it clear in operation, providing OEM-level durability proven through long-term use. In fact it could be covered in dirt, grime, and even submerged in water...it will still function as intended.
Yes. Hundreds of installs show the factory harness works. Only replace if damaged. Torqhead’s Plug-n-Play PCM and C3 harness ensure correct connections.
Switching to a Gen 3 LS PCM eliminates the reliability issues of the factory Optispark while giving you access to modern diagnostics, tuning support, and dyno compatibility almost anywhere. With better control and wider tuning availability, the LS PCM unlocks the full performance potential of your LT build.
A base tune is required to start the engine after installation. Torqhead includes a factory-spec tune with all kits, which works well for stock or lightly modified engines. Highly modified builds benefit from a custom base tune for smoother startup, but full performance is always achieved with follow-up dyno or track tuning.
We include emissions information on every applicable Torqhead product so you always know what’s legal for your build. Each product listing clearly shows its emissions code and usage classification.
