Yes. The LT-DIS is a true distributorless ignition system. It fully deletes the Optispark, ICM, and single coil that came factory on the LT1/LT4/L99 engines, replacing them with modern coil-per-plug ignition and LS-style 24x/1x crank and cam signals. All while working with factory PCM!
Yes. The system was designed to work in harmony with your stock LT1 PCM (1992/1993, 1994–1997). No PCM tuning or replacement is required to install and operate the LT-DIS. The system converts the reliable 24x/1x LS based crank and cam signal into hi/lo resolution signals (originally produced by Optispark) that the factory PCM expects. The LT-DIS system then fires the appropriate coil based on the factory PCM ignition pulse signal
Yes. LT-DIS supports in-field firmware updates for feature enhancements, performance improvements, and potential bug fixes. Also conveniently, since the main crank and cam sensors are 24x/1x LS based and coil packs are also installed, it also offers an upgrade path to LS PCM or aftermarket ECUs if you decide to go further in the future with racing and aftermarket PCM support.
Yes. The base LT-DIS kit (spline or pin drive) is very complete but it does not come with the needed eight coils, coil brackets and plug wires. These need to be supplied seperately. Torqhead offers full coil bracket assembly kits to pair with the LT-DIS system, or enthusiasts can create their own setups from used/new coils. To each their own.
